March Break at the Observatory

Why it’s great: Have a blast this March break exploring astronomy through hands-on activities, crafts, and sky-watching. The programs make learning about space fun and interactive at a real observatory.
Lunarfest - Lunar Lanterns: Brave the Wind
When: Select dates and times from February 21 to March 20
Where: Varley Art Gallery of Markham Courtyard 216 Main St Unionville, Markham
Why it’s great: Featuring stories and lantern designs from artists of diverse backgrounds—including Iranian-Canadian, Indigenous, and Korean creators—it brings different cultures together through art and shared experiences.
Lumière: The Art of Light
When: February 16 to March 27 everyday from 6:00pm to 11:00pm
Where: Trillium Park 955 Lake Shore Blvd W, Toronto, ON, M6K 3B9
Why it’s great: Explore a stunning outdoor exhibition filled with glowing light installations by talented Ontario artists. Wander through the park as artworks bring the theme “Rhythms of Light: Motion, Sound, and Time” to life with colour, movement, and sound.
